Leslie Saeta’s September Challenge has begun. 30 paintings in 30 days. Over 700 artists worldwide are participating. The link above will take you to her post, where you can take a look at all the great art created today. The map shows the countries represented. One of my favorite parts is viewing the daily creations of my friends. Hope you will take a peek.
I am finishing my Summer School assignments, so these first few will be simple. Actually pieces of a surface pattern I am working on for school. I have several of these to work with, and you will see them in the next few days.
For the theme of Feathers… my first. The quill has gone missing, but I am thinking the design will be more about the shapes, than the details.
What kind of “school” are you doing? Something with surface design?
It was the Make it in Design Summer school. I will be posting my final designs later this week, with links to their website. It is an opportunity to get my work seen in the surface design and licensing industries. (As well as an opportunity to learn!)
Looking forward to seeing all your 30 feathers, Sheila! It’s lovely!
Thank you Lucy! Can’t wait to see your paintings as well!
Really nice! I love it!
Thank you Kelly 🙂
So you are not participating in the challenge this time? I am not as it is just too much intensity for me and I have had a very intense summer and this past week participating in a week long plein air paint out…as you know. I must pull IN a little and take a few naps, relax and find my focus, my center.
I am Carol, I just posted late. I forgot to post to Leslie’s blog. I do hope you will stop by now and then.., love hearing from you. And I agree, you have had a very busy summer. I have enjoyed following along in your travels. Oh, a nap sounds like heaven! Enjoy Carol, and thanks for checking up on me 🙂
Beautiful!
Thanks so much Karin 🙂 Oh my goodness, thanks for adding me to your likes! I am honored!
It is the shapes but its the colors and patterns too that caught my eye. Nice.
Thank you Sandy, so glad you like it!
Hooray, You R in Sheila! Love your theme of fantastic feathers! (One that’s very close to my heart!!) Great start my friend!
Actually, I have been thinking of you Sandy. But I would not DARE to paint all feathers. Yours are so wonderful. And I have one on my wall to prove it! No frame yet. We may be moving soon, so I think I may wait to get a frame until we are settled. So glad to see you here as well! What fun to see your paintings each day!
Hey There Sheila!!! Hooray!! You are doing the challenge again, too. Can’t wait to see what you have in store. Me…. nope….no theme planned – just winging it. Don’t know about you, but the summer just flew by with no time to plan a 30 in 30 theme. :o) See you @ the challenge. Enjoy.
Hi Joan, I have missed you! Oh, this whole year has been on fast forward. I don’t have a theme either, but my writing in a hurry, made it sound like Feathers was my theme. It is the theme for the class assignment I am working on. But I do have some plans…. Happy painting to you Joan!
That’s very nice, Sheila. So delicate. I especially like the pattern in the feather.
Thank You Jim!
