I have tried for a week, to get ahead. I stayed up later than I should have last night. Painting and playing with color. I am actually ahead a couple of days now. That has never happened before. I was so tempted to show you all the paintings today.
I really like this piece. So much so, that I am going to show it to you two ways. Let me know which is your favorite.
This is how I painted it, using gravity as a tool.
I left it to dry upside down, when I came back to it, this is what I saw.
I was trying for more of those little “explosions”. When that didn’t work, I added more blue and let it work its way down.
I also went back and added more of a shadow to yesterdays heart. It is not showing as well in the scan. It shows as a thin line, but the color blends out into the surrounding area nicely.

Happy weekend everyone! Don’t forget to check out todays artwork gallery!
I just like the colors! Love blue and green–so soothing. I’m making a wedding quilt for my niece with this same color scheme plus white. Right now it’s still in pieces, but your painting confirms to me that it will make a striking quilt.
I Look forward to seeing it when it is finished, your work is beautiful Pam
I like both “drippy” visions. Perhaps I like blue seaweed more. It does sort of feel like backlit underwater “landscape,” and…well, I am the mermaid!
Well, if a mermaid says it is seaweed, then seaweed it is! Thanks for stopping by Sue!
The sky crying looks to me like a coral reef with the ocean in the background
and the heart one is great now, it floats off the background, waiting for someone to come and steal it and keep it safe
Have a great day Sheila!
Sylvie, you are amazing… now that you said that, I can totally see the reef. I couldn’t before.
I think I like the sky is crying best on this one. I love those colors… The purple helps the heart stand out more, definitely.
Thank you Karin, have a super weekend!
