Another painting on the love theme, a possible candidate for, “LOVE SAYINGS: wit & wisdom of romance, courtship, and marriage”. There are about six to eight layers of paint on this. All the detail, and the heart wrap around the sides. There is bronze paint running through the heart, it never scans well. You can see it better in the photo below.
I am thinking I need to add the word “Love” or “Joy” in the bottom left hand corner. I’d love to hear your opinion.
Happy day to you, and happy painting! Be sure to check out todays galley here.
I was thinking “joy”, just because it’s different. When you see a heart, of course you think “love”. I like words on paintings, though.
Thanks Pam. I like words too, sometimes we need a little reminder to think good thoughts 🙂
Why do you want to add the word to the bottom left side? Is it to balance the composition, or do you want the text/word?
I just think it might be missing something, but I like the simplicity of a single heart. It would be more graphic, and I tend to lean that way. Thanks for visiting Lucy! Hope you are having fun with your brushes!
Very nice. I think the painting already says both Love and Joy without your having to spell it out, but if you want to add one or the the other that would work too. You know, you are the boss! 🙂 Right?
Yes, I am the boss 🙂 My lettering skills need work, so I may follow your advice 🙂 Thank you Jim 🙂
Yes ‘Love’, and maybe a bit more shadow under the heart, it will lift it off the blue and give it a slight 3D effect. 🙂 It will fit the theme really well.
Cool… It did have more shadow, when it dried I noticed it was not as dark. Yes, I will be adding a bit more 🙂 Thanks so much for visiting Sylvie!
The word is Love. A tiny gem. 🙂
All righty Sandy…. thank you 🙂
