This is a do over. Good practice though. I did The main trees and foreground with a palette knife. I don’t have much practice in with that. The distant tree trunks were with the knife as well, and then I brushed on the branches. My strokes are clumpy and heavy.
I started this just before 11 pm, and by 11:30 I was done. So Just under the wire. I intended to paint a flower, but the blank, bright yellow canvas was a little intimidating. It was so pretty just plain! This idea popped into my head, and I started by adding some bronze metallic paint with my fingers. I did the large trunks first.
I will paint over it and try again. I do like it. But I will try to do better.

Happy Day 18, and Happy Thursday!
~~~~~~~~~Update~~~~~~~~~~~
This is on its way to Colorado. My cousin told me it reminds her of a story she loves. I am a book lover too, so I could not resist gifting it to her.
Very nice painting and… In 40 minutes? In 8 hours up you could have the rest of the challenge done and just relax by the pool for the next 12 days!
very nice. What a nice variety of paintings you are turning out!
I got lucky Jim. It is only three colors, so that helps. I stared at the yellow canvas for about an hour before I started. Todays piece took 2-3 hours. Thanks Jim, I always appreciate hearing from you
I don’t think it needs any more, it’s perfect as it is Sheila!
Very striking and restful and warm and it makes you want to look at it some more!
Thanks Sylvie
Geeze! In a half hour!!! That is amazing. It’s Beautiful and what a wonderful gift for your cousin!! Have fun with Day #19. See you @ the challenge.
About 40 minutes actually, and the yellow was dry as I had done that the night before. Thanks for stopping by Joan, and thanks so much for your kind comment! Enjoy creating today
Amazing painting for under a half hour, Sheila! So what’s the story?
Watership Down by Richard Adams. I am sorry to say I have never read it. It was made into a movie here in 1978, and also an animated series in the UK. So glad you like it Sandy, Enjoy your painting today!
I immediately liked this- has the look if a print- and am so glad it is going to your cousin as sometimes do overs aren’t necessary.
Thank You Susan. I am looking at it from across the room, and the mistakes are not so noticeable now.
Hi Sheila, it looks quite good on the screen though.
Thank You Lucy
I loved seeing your son and his painting! Joyful!
