Day 14 – 30 In 30

I played with more Prussian blue and Sap green today. Words for the day – fun, and experimentation. I don’t think I would count either one of these a finished painting.  Not as successful as I hoped. But there are some interesting pieces, if I crop the images.

First, the two pieces I worked on today.

I cropped the painting above to a square, and I think it is more interesting. I put paint on, and took some off, and then added more. I think I just overworked it.

And for the trees above, two croppings. I really like the slender version. I named these “trees” but I can’t help but think of the Northern Lights. Reflecting off a lake, or a layer of fresh snow.

They are beautiful colors Karin. I love all things ocean, so it is funny that I did not see under water at first… but wow, wouldn’t it be something to “live” in that gorgeous color!

Blue Flow reminds me of seaweed 🙂 I looked for little fish faces peering out at the monster snorkler.. LOL and I saw in the top left corner the face of a mermaid partially hidden by a frond of seaweed. 🙂
Then I looked at what you’d done with the Stormy scene of yesterday and was intrigued by how it had changed, to becoming something even more interesting.. dare you enter that forest as the tops of the trees wave to the stormy night sky? Really cool 🙂

Wow… Thank you Sylvie 🙂 I did start thinking about the fire swamp in The Princess Bride. Those trees do look like they would have deep, creepy voices. I am going to look for that mermaid!
