A couple of weeks ago I worked on sunflowers for a friend in the UK, and my cousin Edrynn in New Mexico. I mailed them on the same day, in the same size envelope and somehow, Pauline received hers first. Things that make you go Hmm.
These were a surprise, but I can share them with you now. Here is the sunflower now residing in New Mexico. I included the poppies after a conversation with Pauline where she mentioned that they were her sisters favorite flower. You can see Pauline’s sunflower here.
Happy Friday evening everyone! Enjoy the weekend!

These are both beautiful, Sheila. How very special to receive them as gifts! I bet they both love them!! Poppies always remind me of “The Wizard of Oz”. Man! How I loved that movie growing up! I can remember it would air on TV during the summer months, and we would run home from playing outside, just to watch it!!
Have a super fun weekend!
Happy Painting to You.
Joan
Thank you Joan 🙂 Poppies always remind me of my days as a framer for Michael’s Arts and crafts. I spent a long time helping an old woman one day. She wanted to frame some Georgia O’Keeffe prints from a calendar she had. But she did not have a lot of money. We spent a lot of time talking, and I told her that O’Keeffe was my favorite artist. When we finished, she thanked me for being so patient, and she gave me a red poppy from the calendar. It was one of the nicest gifts I ever received.
Happy creative day to you Joan 🙂
