30 In 30, Day Three

10:19 PM, and it was another mucky day. I tried to save the portrait. Didn’t. I painted some large yellow and orange flowers wet on wet. Those dried OOOUU-gly.  I tried an abstract. More muckiness.

I painted a single large magenta flower on canvas board, with a palette knife.  Ruined that too.

Finally I pulled out some photo paper and painted a few fairly pretty little flowers, that I may be able to use for a fabric design.

So today I am turning in a painting I did previously. I know it is cheating. I did paint today. I just did not create a usable painting.

This is acrylic on a 12 x 12 canvas. It took me under 30 minutes. The background is a metallic, and there are bits of it in the body of the trees. In the side view, you can see how they catch the light.

I am glad I accepted Leslie’s challenge. I’m just having some sort of painter’s block. We’ll see what tomorrow brings!

    Hey There Sheila!

I love these trees. You captured some beautiful fall colors with this one! This painting would look beautiful above a sofa, or in a bedroom, oh my….a bathroom, too!!

It’s not cheating! Just look at some of the paintings being submitted so early in the day…how can they be done that quickly? Hmm… not everyone is painting by the ‘rules’…but then painting is what it is all about no matter what time it is done…I say throw out the rules and just have fun!

Joan I have to say, one of the best things about this challenge is having your comments on my artwork. Thank You! Enjoy your painting today Joan! Can’t wait to see your work!

Hi Sheila. Thrilled, yes, THRILLED to meet you and read this. I’m also in the 30 day challenge and find your sharing & honesty refreshing. I’m in the same boat; almost buckled yesterday and sadly it was only day 3! I really liked the simplicity or line, color and looseness of your red floral. Hope to see that fabric line some day! Good luck to both of us today!

OH Thank You for that Karen. Looking over the work turned in yesterday, everything is so gorgeous, and it was a little daunting. Just hard knowing I have done better, and now that I want to take part and share it just was not flowing. But today is a new day, so here I am off to paint! Good Luck to you as well Karen, look forward to seeing your creation!
