30 In 30, Day Seven

Hello all, I do hope you are staying cool and comfortable. And hydrated.  Here is my painting for Day seven of Leslie Saeta’s September 30 paintings in 30 days challenge. Thanks so much for visiting my site, I love hearing from you.

I don’t know how fall got into my head today. I think we were triple digits here.  But I started thinking about pears for dessert, maybe with a little cinnamon.  I found a recipe, and thought you might like to try it too.

½ teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
Plain yogurt (optional)

Directions

  • In a medium bowl, toss sliced pears with lemon juice and set aside.
  • Melt margarine or butter in a skillet, over medium heat. Stir in honey and vanilla. Add pears to skillet and stir until they are well-coated with the mixture.
  • Sprinkle pears with cinnamon and nutmeg. Cover and heat for an additional 2 to 3 minutes, stirring once or twice.
  • Serve with a dollop of yogurt, add a dash of cinnamon if desired.

    Hi Sheila,

These three pears are all going to look very nice together hanging on the wall. I like the background colors you chose for this one.

My daughter brought home, from a co-worker, – an Asian pear. We have never had one before. Will be trying it out tomorrow. They are round like an apple, or at least this one is.

BTW: that recipe does sound good!

    Good luck with Day #8

One week down! Three more to go.
